Brenda Fisher

Brenda was born in Spokane and has lived there all her life. She began studying Spanish when she was in high school. She enjoyed the language immensely and chose to pursue a career in Spanish Education (following in the footsteps of her fantastic high school Spanish teachers).

Between her sophomore and junior years in college, Brenda went to Spain, where she lived for one year. While there, she taught English, tutored students in Spanish grammar, and learned a great deal about the Spanish culture.

Brenda graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Spanish Education from Eastern Washington University. She spent two years in a traditional classroom before coming to work at STEP Star.

During the summer of 2001, Brenda received a scholarship to study at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. She took courses on culture, grammar, and Spanish history. She also participated in many cultural activities and tours, expanding her knowledge about the history and the people of Spain.

Brenda’s love for the Spanish language and culture reach far beyond standing in front of a television camera. She has many favorite Spanish and Mexican dishes that she cooks for her family, and has a large collection of foreign currency. She is looking forward to starting a new collection with the introduction of the Euro.
